Full-Time Tahfiz Madrasah :
Our Curriculum

Sekolah Ugama Radin Mas is a full-time Tahfiz (Quran memorisation) Madrasah that offers a holistic four-year secondary education program. The Madrasah focuses on equipping students with memorising skills and instilling in them adab and akhlaq (good manners, morals, conduct and personal demeanour).

When students graduate, they would have memorised a minimum of 10 Juz of Al-Quran and sat for 5 basic O-level subjects. The curriculum comprises 3 departments:

Al-Quran Curriculum

The Al-Quran curriculum focuses on producing Huffaz who are not only equipped with memorising skills, but also knowledge of the various sciences of Al-Quran. The main emphasis, Tahfiz, is supplemented with Quranic Sciences, such as Tajwid, Tafsir and Ulum Quran.

At the end of the 4 years, students would have memorised 10 juz. However, students who can progress faster will aim to memorise all 30 juz in the 4 years.

Diniyyah Curriculum

Diniyyah subjects are taught in SURM to give students a sound grounding on the fundamentals of Islamic knowledge and henceforth to instill into them a love for seeking knowledge. This will help to shape the Hamalatul Quran personality (personality of the bearers of Al-Quran).

The Diniyyah department follows the following principles:

Suluk

Suluk is a formative assessment used in SURM. It assesses students conduct in carrying themselves as Muslims. This is in line with a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. narrated by Abu Hurairah r.a., “I was sent to perfect good character”

Hence, the subjects Akhlak and Fiqh incorporates Suluk into the overall marks and grades of students.

Suluk focuses on students’ observance of solat, discipline and interaction with others while in school.

Arabic & Academic Curriculum

The Arabic & Academic curriculum aims to provide students with language and thinking skills. It focuses on preparing students to sit for 5 basic O-level subjects, which will enable students to continue their Islamic Studies in local or overseas institutions.

Daily Routines in SURM

School starts at 7.30 am.

The school day starts with reading of Ratib Al-Attas and Solat Hajat.

Tahfiz is then conducted for 3 hours followed by all the remaining subjects.

Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary students are dismissed at 3.45 pm and 5.15 pm respectively.

Fortnightly, students will have Enrichment Programs. This ranges from Archery, Muay Thai, Boxing, Cycling, etc.
